Having people to look up to for inspiration definitely helps progression. For some people, they may be influenced and emulate the actions/beliefs of someone they admire, allowing them to be able to achieve things beyond their usual limits. However, this should stop at a certain extent. There is nothing worse in life than throwing away your personality and blindingly becoming someone you are not.
Don’t try to fight your own morals and nature. Don’t hesitate to do what makes you feel happy, especially if it’s up against what society dictates as the norm. You can lie to anyone and everyone, but never yourself.
